Boy red racer if your paying 500.00 for 6al's I need to sell you some man their half that from summit or me ,a 6 al should last 3 to 5 years in salt water if you put it were it can't get wet
its not common they fail it is common for MSD to tell you to use
the marine as they make more on it /go with the 6AL and and MSD E type coil or blaster 2 and some taylor pro wires

Those prices were for the conversion from the 6AL to the 6ML. I already use the 6AL, Master Blaster II, MSD wires and the MSD distributer.
I did convert to MSD, but couldn't afford the marine version at the time...
Wanted to know what and when these unit would fail and if there was any way to extend the life cycle. I too use the units in all my vehicles to add a bit of performance and reliability, it did seem a bit high just for the marine version...
Thought, I would add a little advice and get some in return...
