Ran a scanner on both of my motors today. As far as I can tell, both motors have no problems. I was just verifying the motor hrs in relation to dash hr meter. Dash; 127hrs, both motors read 161 hrs. Either bad gauge or unhooked for 1 season. Helps resale I guess. ![Mad](/forums/images/smilies/mad.gif)
Have been somewhat following/lost on FastFormulas post on this topic, so just using it as a reference.
Keep in mind I ran the scanner right at start up and did not run long enough to warm up as was only interested in hr reading. These are only readings I wrote down, and can't recall anything else. (Idle RPM were right around 700 on both motors while checking)
'99 502MPI Star/Port
Throttle PCT 1/0
Map Volts 2.5/2.5
Manifold Pressure 17/17
IAC Postion 117/109
Base IAC 114/108
IAC follower 0/0
Are the high IAC readings do to the cold motors?
Thanks

Jerry,
Your IAC position is little high. That means it is opening up more to let air in to maintain the idle speed. There is a stop on the secondary throttle blade you can use to allow it to open more to get the counts down. It may be the cold temps like you mentioned, but I ran into the same thing when I set up my Whipple system. It has a larger throttle body which the IAC and TPS are installed, and the throttle blades need slight adjustment to get the idle right. That hour meter disconnect is a dirty trick. My hour meter will read more than the scan tool shows cause I bought a second ecu (ouch!) for backup.
