I've got twin XR Sportmasters on the back of my brand new boat. The boat looks great, however, the lower units of the sportmasters look filthy. All the soap and water in the world wont clean them up. It's like the pores of the Aluminum suck up the lake grime. Tried C.L.R. as well and it didn't help. Any ideas?

I use Sno-Bol (toilet bowl cleaner) to remove water deposits/scum on my boat and drives. The calcium (?) buildup, white crust on the drives and the water spots on the hull just dissolve at contact from the Sno-Bol. Not sure if this is the same as what you are experiencing though.
