Default Teague 509" crate motor

I have a boat the needs repowering, and was looking to add a new 496, but after flipping through Powerboat I noticed that Teague Custom Marine had a 509" 575 hp motor for 9995.....that is CHEEP.
Has anyone run one of these, how do they last?

Thanks for any info.

They built me a pair of 509s a few years ago and they are flawless. I would imagine that if Teague puts his name on a crate motor then you won't have any problems.

The 620 hp is not the crate motor.

My buddy has a teague motor and it lasted 10 minutes but then he did go 108 for those fun minutes before he blew a motor and and XR drive.

Paul Pfaff builds a really nice motor, but you get what you pay for!

Ok,

Now I am totally confused, do you guy like this thing or not?

I just see it as one hell of a deal for that kind of power.

Thanks for any help.

firewalker I thought it was a good deal until I found out what it is . You can call summit and ask for a world products crate motor
add a pan and 741 crane roller and add a marine merlin intake and you have their motor ,,,my supplier said don't use it so He turned down a sale and I trust his judgement
