Default Handheld GPS w/mapping

Whats a decent handheld GPS with mapping? I'm looking at a Garmin GPSMAP 76.

Anyone have one of these or recommend another GPS?

Thanks

the new price on the map76 is 299.99 it is a great unit, if you want to download a lot of detail into the unit, you might run out of memory with only 8mb of storage, if you have a little more cash look into the map76S, it has 24mb of memory for 100dollars more, it also has some extra features like barometric altimeter, and electronic compass, other than those features it just like the 76,you can download bluechart data from your PC into the 76 are 76S both models come with the pc cable you only need the cd to load it up, the base map built into both models is nice but not a lot of detail like whats on the bluechart

I have an e-trex vista and I like it a lot, not color but it takes all the maps and I have never run out of memory. I think it has 8mb. I only down load maps of certain places I am not as familiar with the rest has just the basics loaded.

I was using a Magellan map 320 handheld. I just upgraded to a Garmin 182C chartplotter with the memory card. All I can say is what a difference. I should have done it a long time ago. There is nothing like the detail you get from a chartplotter.

the new Garmin 176C is a handheld chartplotter, color screen it is a cool unit, but it eats batteries real bad, so you almost have to run it off a power cord, you are right about the 182C its a nice unit to have

I am looking at the 176c for use with the snowmobile and boat. It looks like a nice product.
