I have forged pistons (TRW) in my 454's (.030 over) which were setup on the loose side of the mfg recommend tolerances range and never see any decrease in oil level between changes (about every 15-20 hours). Cruise RPM varies from 3500 to 4200 depending on my mood.

I have triple 502's in a forty-two Baja, the two outboard engines burn about a quart every 4 hours and the center engine burns a quart every 15 hours.
The engines are stock and engine numbers are in sequence, the only difference between the outboard engines and the center engine is the exhaust. The center engine has a Y pipe from the risers feeding into a single tail piece and the outboard engines each have straight pipes off of the risers.
