Default Boat Pulls to the Port side

Question??? My boat seems to be pulling to the port side. What direction do I turn the trim deal (sorry can't think of the correct name at the moment, just came in off the lake from a 6 hr trip and am a little fried)?????

By the way I switch from a Mirage 3 blade to a Bravo 1 4 balde this year and I swear the boat rides rougher due to the change!
Anyone else notice anything like that?

When I ran the 4 blade the stern lift caused the boat to feel out of control, I was told a 4 blade lifts the stern. I went back to a 3 blade

I've heard that. Did the boat seem to ride rougher?? Or did it seem to be tougher to trim to get a good ride?

if you have a single motor without hyd. steering, the boat will pull to the one side if you let go of the wheel. If you are running a right handed prop it will pull left, and visa versa. it's caused by torque of the prop, and you will notice it more now with a 4 blade. my boat actually rides unlevel (to the port) as well as pulling. i always need to put a tab down 6 degrees to level the boat, but it still pulls.

A Bravo 1, 4 blade will give you more stern lift than a Mirage 3 blade. It should give you a better ride in rough water. I made the same change and the effect was the same as running with the tabs down a little. Better holeshot, too. I did not notice any torque steer, in fact I changed the finned zinc for a flat one for clearance and did not see any change in steering. Every boat is different.

For those of you with the Bravo Drives, you can help this situation by switching to a LH Rotation prop which will reduce the amount pull on the bow, port side. It is caused by the prop torque as stated. Remember that you can run a Bravo drive in either rotation or diretion but use caution when doing so remembering that forward is reverse and reverse is forward.

Good Luck!

I don't think anyone has answered your first question if you were asking how to adjust your anti-cavitation plate mounted trim tab/anode just above and behind the prop. If you are standing behind the L.U. looking down, Aim the "thingy" toward the starboard side if you want it to tend to pull that way -- and to port if you want it to compensate to the left. Remember that wheel torque or pull changes with trim setting so I suggest setting the tab to result in as close to neutral torque at the speed and trim setting where you spend the most running time. --- Jer

If you are running a 230 conquest, you have the wrong prop on it big time. I have tried about 20 props on my conquest and by far the worst one was a bravo 4 blade. The front section of the hull on the 230 is very steep and deep. the 4 blade make the boat bow steer dut to too much transom lift.

Airpacker, I belive I would agree with you. On flat water she's a dream plus faster. In chop a real pain in the behind! I've only had the boat out 4 times this year all with the bravo 1 on and the last two times in a 2-3 foot chop. The thing was a handfull and the ride was rough! What prop did you go with??? I did try a left hand rotation (no good) 23 mirage was factory but only spins 4600 rrm, tried a 21 Mirage Plus (VERY BAD!!!) I gues I'll go back to the Mirage 23 I have and sell the Bravo 1.
