I have a 2001 500 EFI that had an oil leak. It was coming out of the crank seal and I replaced it. For the first month I was fine and no more leak, then last weekend it started again. It is not a bad leak but I am trying to figure out why it is happening. The oil pressure is 40 at idle when the motor is warm, and when it is cold it is around 75 to 80 pounds. Anyone have any suggestions, the motor only has like 80 hours on it??? Thanks in advance.

Well it is weird, it is leaking off the cool fuel that is bolted in the front of the motor, I get a drip or two off the back bolt that holds the cool fuel to the braket. Like I said before it is not leaking bad, but I would like to figure it out. If I wipe a rag under the balancer it doesn't have oil on it???

What is everyone else running as far as oil pressure goes? I thought it seemed a bit high at 75 to 80 pounds when cold, after a good warm up at idle it is 40 pounds. Is there any way that the motor is not breathing good enough to cause it to blow the crank seal? It is a totally stock 500 EFI.

LIke I said before it is a stock 500 EFI, I haven't changed anything on it at all. I am going to pull the cool fuel off this weekend and check exactly where it is coming from. By the way how did you get the motor up to 6100, the rev is set at 5250?
