Now that I'm finally running what I consider the best prop for my boat tested to date, I have a few questions.
I'm running a 28P Bravo 1 on my 24' Pantera with 650HP. Total weight approximately 4600#. I will get better performance numbers as I just received my GPS, but currently I am running about 85 MPH (Speedo) @ 4800 RPM.
1. Does this speed/RPM seem right?
2. What can I do to get my RPM's up without sacrificing low/mid range performance?
3. I'm be interested in Lab finishing prices, please quote finishing my prop and also a new Bravo 1 finished from you shipped to Hillside, IL 60162. (See Jeff, I'm not cheap or poor!!)
Thanks,
Kirk

What gearing in the drive?????
With a 1.5 drive a 28 @ 4800 going 85mph has a 0% slip ratio. With 10% slip which is fairly good for V's, its 77mph.
You would pick up 400 or so rpms by dropping to a 26 Bravo. Labbing the 28 would probably give you 200-300 rpms.

I must be real efficient with 0% slip huh Griff!!!??
Like I said, I'll get true GPS reading this week to see what I'm really doing.
Darin,
I'll check my email, thanks, I knew you'd have the answer and the right prop!!! I'll get back to you tomorrow!!

O.K. I have to tell the sad truth. My GPS Lies!!!!!
I am actually running 78 MPH at 4650 RPM with the Bravo 1 28P. I am very disappointed. I called Darrin at Houston Prop and he recommends a 26 increased to a 27 with some cuppping and lab finishing. I'm going to go with his recommendation, but need to purchase my drive first.
What numbers should I anticipate with a 27P at 5000 - 5100 RPM?
