Default solid hub cleavers on a bravo???

ok i bought a 23p cleaver on ebay for like $80 its in pretty good hsape. My plan was to use it for testing to see what pitch i was going to need to run. 23p is ballpark.

teh issue is i installe dit (it has asolid hub) and when the nut is tightened all the way the splines are still showing and the drop has some play in it. Do I need some kind of an adapter of will this prop just not work on a bravo?

If it does not have an integral locking tab washer thing on the rear of the prop hub, then you can use an older 1st generation Chopper part that has the locking tabs on it. If your prop does have te locking tabs, then use a spacer washer on the propshaft from an old style inline or Alpha prop.

There is a brass piece that will go behind the prop. This piece will have the splines and notches for the locking tabs on it. It's basically a shorter version of the insert that is used on the newer merc props.

BTW-For your application, I would have left the prop on ebay.

The Part # 11-827614 A3. This is for the complete hub kit for the old style Mercury Solid hub. The kit contains a 4 piece hub kit.

I was thinking the same thing. I have a 21 and 23 cleaver sitting in the garage. I didn't think anyone would have a use for them. Maybe I should put them on ebay, I was going to give them away.

I've been seeing those old simpleton 3 blade trs cleavers going for $250! People are too used to just going to their dealer and paying this insane markup for outdated junk! Absolutely incredible.

figured it was worth a shot. Its and old hull so i figrued old technology might work....

but mainly i wanted to see how it spin. If i can turn a 23 to the redline at 1/2 throttle i know a need a much larger prop. Plus i figured for $80 it would makea decent spare. I wasted a mirage 3 years ago on sumberged somthing or other and had to limp back from CT with a badly out of balance prop.

we all learned a lot of patience in getting on plane and going in the old days with the cleavers but they kick butt in the rough once going.
