Default Removing 3M 5200 may be possible

I just ran across this on Bomar's website and thought it might be useful if anyone is ever searching an answer.

There is a product on the market called Anti-Bond 2015 that may help. Anti-Bond 2015 that maybe the solution. Anti-Bond 2015 can be sprayed on 3M 5200 causing it to debond without any delamination of the boat's gelcoat

I have no experience with this stuff, just copied and pasted.

Oh, that stuff is the shiznit. But be very careful what else it touches-lots of stuff dissolves if it gets on it(not fiberglass though). It really softens up the 5200 and with a little patience you can remove anything.

I have used it, It does soften the 5200 but not deep in you have to penetrate it to get it to let go.

I removed my muffler tips last spring with a torch and a little elbow grease. I just the other day was cleaning the 5200 off with a scraper and tried some spray "brake cleaner" it seemed to work better than the anti bond. You may want to give it a try too. I was shocked. I think I will try some on a new 5200 test patch to see what happens too.
