Sterling Engines/Lifter oiler bar/Spring oiler bar
Does Sterling Marine Engines use a lifter oiler bar, and spring oiler bar in some of their engines?
Where does the spring oiler get its oil feed from?
Is this for dry sumps only?

I know that they use spring oilers. It's supplied to the back of the valve cover. I can't recall where it gets the oil from though. Maybe Waterfoul knows, he's a certified Sterling mechanic.

KE was making some. I have been running them and they seemed to have helped quite a bit. Basically the bar bolts down to the block in the lifter valley and has 16 spray holes drilled and positioned to spray on lobes. You can probably get your feed for the bar from a number of places. On the Gen IV I just drilled and tapped a fitting on the inside of the valley into the front oil passage tap that comes off of the front cam bearing and goes up towards the intake on a tall deck. On the Gen V I bow tie there is a tap on the back side of the block. You will probably want to have a dry sump or similiar variable pressure oil system. I guess you can try the new KEPP and see if they have them or can make them. I think KE used them in his 1000's and up.
