Default Truck Brakes gone!!!

I know its off the subject but the wife just called and lost her brakes on the way to work. I could hear a hiss inside the truck last night when the brakes are applied. Called Crazyhorse my machanic buddy and he thinks the vaccum booster is shot. How big of a deal is it to fix ??? worth doing or should I call a wrecker to go get the wifes truck and have it fixed???
Help!

Dyno, not knowing what your truck is, changing the booster usually isn't to bad at all. You may not want to change it where it's at, depending on where your wife left the truck. I would probably just change it myself, but be prepaired, if you have to disconnect the break lines, then you will need to bleed the brakes. Not to say that you will have to, you just have to look at it. If you can swing the master cylinder out of the way, just pull the booster, change it, and bolt it back together.

Thanks Guys I have a booster on hold at Auto Zone for $116, 28Eliminator the Truck is a 1999 Tahoe shouldn't go too bad. Crazyhorse said I could change it at his house its only a couple miles from my wifes office hope I can get stopped when I get there!!!maybe I should just grab the anchor out of the boat and give it a toss out the window when I get in his driveway!!!
