Default New project officially begins now!!

I finally got my next project rolling. I ordered a 598" short block kit and I will be building the motor myself. I am hoping for the same power I am making now with my high compression 496" only on pump gas with the 10:1 compression 598. Anyway I have a real sweet running 496 for sale that has 20 hrs on it. Keep in mind it runs on 110 fuel..

It will fit Travis!! I don't know how the Alpha drive will like it though!!! For the record Waterfowl rode in my boat and it didn't even have a hiccup because of it!!

Hey Tinker,
I got the kit from Lukovich Racing Engines in Royal Oak. It is a Dart BigM block bored, honed (4.600), squared, screened, washed, oiled, and bagged ready for parts. The rotating assy is an Eagle 4.5" crank, 6.7" Eagle rods with L19 bolts, and custom JE 10:1 pistons completely checked, balanced and pin fit in house by Lukovich Racing. The kit includes Clevite bearings and Speed Pro rings for right at $4600.00. I have used Lukovich for a few motors now and they do first class work. The kit will be ready for pick up in 6 weeks. Then it will be time to decide what to do about heads and assembly will begin. Hopefully a 22' to 23' Cat will see triple digits with the new pump gas motor.
Later,
Craig

And I am seriously trying to sell my 496. It is a bad ass motor, but I am just sick of buying 110 octane fuel. Hell, I will sell the WETTE VETTE motor and all for $21000. There aren't to many 98 MPH boats out there for that kind of money. Hydraulic steering, CMI, MSD, Dart, GPS Speedo, Shortie Bravo, Spinelli, Eagle, Jesel, Manley, Nickerson, WPM. Hell, it sounds like stuff only found on boats $50000+++ and most of them don't do 98MPH. Anyway if anyone is interested le me know ASAP. In a couple of weeks the 496 comes out and the weak stocker goes back in and it is again a 70 MPH boat.
Later,
Craig
