Don’t have any experience with Trick Flow or Merlin but if you want an opinion, Donovan is the way to go. We have been using their blocks for 3-4 years now and they are by far the best vendor we have. They always deliver when and what they promise and on top of that, they are some of the nicest people around. Call Kathy or Woody, you won’t be sorry. (310) 320-1090

(Off topic - sorry) Innovation: I assume from your name and location that you work for Dave Stiff at Innovation? If so, I have an engine at your shop - a 600 hp Volvo. Any idea how the work is going on it?

I'd put the Merlin above the Trick Flow in quality and strength. The Donovan is another level above either of those. Arias makes a very nice product, the Donovan are more available and you get a cool black tee shirt with every order!!

I have a pair of 800 hp naturally aspirated 572s. They're Keith Black blocks. Very nicely done. In a 10,000 lb boat, saving the weight in the transom was a big plus.
