SSM Prop interchange
I've got SSM 3A drives and just wondered what other SSM-drive props, if any will fit the 3A's.

the SSM 3 runs a 19 tooth spline(small shaft) the same as the Kaama drive. You can run the newer 26 tooth(large shaft) with an adapter kit. The kit includes a collar and a 19-26 tooth adapter that slides into the hub. (very quick & easy). This will give you many more options when playing the prop game. Give Lanier Marine a call and talk to Earl. He will be able to help you.

The 3A has the 26 tooth, same spline as a #6 but the actual shaft diameter behind the spline is different, a 6 has a 1 7/8, 3A and 5 have 1 3/4. The later big shaft props have a plastic bushing that you change depending on the drive, the early ones did not have the bushing, so they were made to fit one size. The prop can be updated for bushings easily.

Thanks guys. Being able to use #6 props with the bushings may make it easier for me if I decide to change wheels in the future. Here's a picture of the boat on the last COPS run. That's Waterfoul with us.
