I just switched real quick from Wix-Napa raceing filters when I found out that they both have the same media the only filter down to 60 microns to KN.The KN goes down to 15 microns if I rember so it's still a high performance filter.

K&N's have a nice bolt head on the bottom of the filter so you will never need a filter wrench. Just use an open end wrench and I don't care how tight it is, you can spin it of with no problems. It has made my job a hole lot easier a couple of times by having those on there.

Yea. I ran a bunch of rv antifreeze into the block several weeks ago. Havn't had any time to do anything else. Around mid December I'm going out of state for a week and then I start wrenching on the boat. Gotta replace the pan gasket.

If a pan gasket is as bad as the repairs get you've had a great season. Congrats on the successful package you've built. Let's see if we can't get together at one of the Wisconsin ports next summer.

Thankyou very much. I've been concentrating on the things that are wrong and forgot just how much is right. Everybody should rig their own boat once. Gives you a whole new perspective of what is involved.

Pan is the worst labor wise. I had to cut it to get the timing chain cover off earlier in the year. Because of that it proably doesn't even count. The most expensive repair is to replace some alluminum fuel line fittings due to a battery acid leak. More annoying than anything-I hate doing things twice. Proably 4 hours and $250 plus new batteries and new hold downs.

Ditto on the bolt on bottom of the case. It makes life a lot easier. The case stands up to the torque of bolting and unbolting, therefore it is extremely heavy duty.
