I pulled the gimbal bearing out of my Alpha I drive and now I'm trying to find a replacment. I don't really want to get one from WestMarine for $50. The bearing that I pulled out is a Link-Belt brand part# 207-E3. I've called all of the bearing shops in my town and nobody can find a replacment bearing. What is another brand of bearing that I should use? Anyone have a part#? Thanks.

A customer of mine is Motion Industries,,, or Berry Bearing,,,, same compnay,,, they matched the bearing # and were 1/4 of the price for the same bearing. This was on Bravo internal stuff though,,, but worth checking out in your area.

Well I called Link-Belt, the company that makes the gimbal bearings for mercruiser. They said that I will never find a bearing at a bearing parts store under the number that is stamped on the original bearing (207-E3). They said that they make those bearing only for mercruiser. But the guy I talked to did give me another number that he said is their "aftermarket" part number that the bearing stores might be able to get. It was BS226717. I'll let you guys know if I can find the correct gimbal bearing, and what the price is on it.

Aftermarket marinepart.com has complete link belt. $35 also Aftermarket $25

I'm rebuilding alpha transom's in volume numbers and am always looking to make more off of the deal. Anybody else have any ideas on where to get parts at bare bottom costs ? I even figured how to rebuild a trim limit switch, and put new wires on it. It turns out that the brush contacts inside have small allen setscrews attaching the wires.
