93formula/sorry if you misunderstood my point. Normally you end up getting what you pay for...typically. Without a doubt Summit has good stuff, I normally spend 4-5K a year with them, probably 1/3 on aeroquip fittings/hose. Actually the oring adapter fittings would have the oring thread as compared to a pipe thread going into the housing and the an thread on the other side of the adapter going to your hose. Anytime you can buy billet machined aluminum with quality fittings for $20-30 I would say it is a tremendous deal!

You're right about the design of the fittings Bob, o-ring on the housing side and A/N on the hose side. I know what you mean about the cost of A/N stuff!! I just finished changing over the last bit of rubber/hose clamp to A/N, the sewater pump hoses. Of course that was after I blew the discharge off at high speed, that'll fill that center pod up right now It's sticker shock though when buying a -16 90 degree hose end!

BTW, where's Port Deposit? I grew up in Annapolis.

Check this little dude out. The one in the bottom left corner of the picture.

I bought one of these at racepartswholesale.com Think I paid $75 for it and it needs no additional mounting or hoses. Fits like a sandwich adapter. That little nerd on the side is the thermostat. I cleaned up the casting around the ports a little. It has 1/2" npt fittings and it's internal passages are larger than my old permacool sandwich adapter.

Option, options...

Brad Perry !! The man, that's the hot ticket!! Is there a US distributor for them? No pricing was on the web page either, but it would be in pounds or euro dollars anyway.
Also, did you see the electric water pumps 300-1300 g/p/h? The electronic controller keeps the pump running after the engine is shut down to cool the engine....this would reduce "coking" of the oil in a hot engine.
Really a good site, just too bad it's in the UK !

traviss....according to the web site (uk one) the temp range is adjustible. The sensing element is also replaceable! That is unusual in itself. A usa product, you would probably have to replace the entire unit. This unit mounts in-between the filter & it's normal mount. That really cool, no extra "stuff" hanging of the block. I am going to have to try this I think.
