Aluminum Trailer bunks
I own a 16000# Boat Master aluminum trailer that I would like to put a 382 FasTech on, but I need to lengthen the large wooden bunks about a foot and a half. I figured it would be best just to replace them with longer ones and fit them to the stepped bottom. Does anyone know what kind of wood to use ? Also does anyone know where to buy cross-members and adjustable bunks to use farther forward on the trailer?

Rough cut Oak is easy to get in our area and is reasonable. Don't try to scab or scarf the wood, you have too nice of a boat. Most likey you will need to move the axles aft or bow stop forward.
My boat is a little big for my trailer. We moved the bow stop forward
