Performance Shop in Central TX?
Does anyone know of a good performance shop in the Ausitn, TX or poissibly San Antonio area? I currently have my Formula 357 at the Formula dealership on Lake Travis. While I'm sure they're good for service work I would like to find s more performance oriented shop.
Any ideas?
Thank you

I let a well known marina and machine shop work on my, supposed bad head, and after $2600, and them not willing to go back into the motors, after they put them back together, and re-address the problem, I took it to my mechanics and machine shop - Mars Marine and Owens Racing. Mars: 281-326-6630 located in Seabrook, Tx aka Houston, Tx aka Clear Lake, Tx. Owens Racing is located in Pearland, which is a suburb of Houston toward the South.
After taking it to Mars/Owens, I found I had a whole different problem than the Austin mechanics and machine shop guys said. Oh, by the way... this "well known" machine shop told me i had a cracked head and i needed a new one = which they'd graciously sell me for around $900. i told them to halt everything and brought the head to Owens (who not only could get me a fitted head for $600,brand new from GM, but found that i only had a bad alignment pin. Replaced it and all tests fine!), who took great care of me, as they always do and Mars found the "real problem."
Ask for Travis Brewer, Owner of Mars. He'll get you set up w/ Owens if you ever need machine shop work. I was referred to Mars, when I lived in Austin, from 94-99, and have been with them ever since; from my 26' to my current 38.
give me a call if you'd like more details. I'm out of pocket until the 28th.

P.S. = I, along with several Austin boating friends, find it well worth the time/drive to get the work done "right" the first time and trouble shot for any future problems/maintance etc..., by traveling to Houston.
