Default Keith Eckert Manifold Headers

Does anyone know if the Keith Eckert Aluminum Manifold Headers have the same rise and dimensions as stock Gil exhaust manifolds?

Also, which Corsa Silent choice system is best for use with these headers or does the boat hull make the difference?

These are going into a 25' Active Thunder

Thanks,

Kirk

I do believe KE's housing is higher at its tallest point and I believe they are taller than the Gill. They are 3.75" taller than a std Merc cast iron 4 bolt riser system and .120" narrower. On a tall deck w/Chev cast iron heads the KE package is 31.79" wide, std deck is 31.48". Possibly you can measure your current width and compare. Can't help on tail pipe anlgle of Gill. KE's flange is kicked down 10 degree as compared to rear face of block. Center line of exh flange is 15.8" up from c/l of crank on a tall deck w/Chev cast iron heads. Maybe someone can chime in with some more details for you. Thay are a great performing pipe! Good luck.

I had the KE headers on my last boat. Sounded totally awesome. I doubt that the silent choice will work, who needs it anyway, it just robs power from you!

Silent choice doesn't work. Make up one piece tailpipes and go out the transom and run some CMI's or ? on the end of the tailpipe. I can show you how to mock up a tailpipe rather easily. You can have the guys that did KE's tailpipe flanges weld you up some tailpipes for a pretty reasonable price. Give Performance Stainless a call at 920-739-9899.

Here is a pic of the autocad drawing I did to begin fitting My KEs in. It is kind of hard to read. If you have autocad I could email you the file.

Actually you can probably refer to KE Power products's web site for dimensions and then give Gill a call. I am sure they would have comparative numbers for overall package width and height relative to crank centerlines.

Here is work in progress. Having two areas of interference, one is the bottom head bolts and the other is the front of the water plumbing at the alternator and fuel seperator. Tailpipes were modified from some long leftovers innovation marine had lying around.

BlueThunder/ looks like the alternator will have to be lowered. Below is a pic of KE's bracket which locates it down lower. You need to work out an adjustment link on the bottom. I'll show another pic following. Can you relocate the seperator off the engine or use a braket which bolts up to the front of the head? If you head bolt is interfering it can be fixed by touching up the high spot with a grinder or taking a bit off the casting. If they do interfere it is a minor amount I would think.
