"standard size" of exhaust?
I was wondering if there is a standard size exhaust that is used on a 502 EFI? I'm running IMCO powerflow exhaust with silent choice and need some mufflers. What is the typical size tips for this application? I realize that it could be 4 or 4 1/2 but I was hoping maybe someone could tell me the "norm"? The boat's in storage and was looking for a quick answer

IMCO powerflow "standard" is 4".If you have dry tailpipes it is possibly 4 1/2".
But I don't understand why you need mufflers if you have silent choise

DNR is getting "sticky" around here about silent choice. I don't want or need mufflers as I love the sound of open exhaust. Unfortunately I don't think I can get away with not running them in my area.

I understand, we don't have that problem here in Sweden yet.
Anyway,I hope you've got the answer you was looking for.If you want to confirm, visit the IMCO site www.imcomarine.com

Most likely, you have 4" tips. For the situation you described, I would look for a used set of Drew Marine Shotguns. They are adjustable depending on on which hole you set the tension rod in. Setting them on the lightest tension will quiet the boat down a few db's at idle and above 3000rpms they're fully open. Setting them tighter will quiet it down more and keep it quieter with more rpms.
