5 blade Maximus
I saw the ad for Houston's new 5 blade, was wondering how many people have tried the Maximus?
What is the current pricing for the Maximus and can someone recommend a vendor to get a deal on the new 5 Maximus blades? Mark from BAM, does he sell these by chance?
Anyone with connections may chime in and assist on purchases, for the best pricing for Offshore Only members, it seems the interest for the 5 blade props is strong! Just like Walmart, we have a lot of power in group purchase pricing!

jspeeddemon,
The Maximus is coming out slow but sure. Not to bash Mercury, but I think the Maximus needs more work before it is right. When we got ours in I looked at the prop and thought "what were they thinking". I'm sure Mercury will work on the Maximus and get it right but right now I would be hesitant to buy one.
There are two manufacturers who have a proven record with Bravo style 5 blades, Hering and Hydromotive. Both of these companies have a proven record in the offshore circuit winning many National and World titles. Virtually every SVL, SV, SCL boat running a Bravo style outdrive that won a title last year was running either a Hering or Hydromotive 5 or 6 blade prop.
We have the Maximus 30p in stock and our price is $985 and that includes the XR hub kit. The Hydromotive 5 blade P5 and P5X are $999 and that includes the XR hub as well. We will have a sale on Hydromotive props in the very near future.
We spent all last week testing many boats with many different props. The one that stood out was the Hydromotive P5X. This is a new prop that really delivers. Stock out of the box it has the same top end as a stock Bravo 1 with a 5-8 mph better cruise speed and much better mid range acceleration. Plane-off is incredible with this prop as well. From our testing it seems as if the P5X is what the Maximus was supposed to be.
If you have any questions or would like more details please don't hesitate to call.

This is a picture of the Hydromotive P5 Plus. It is only available race ready. Mainly designed for cats and V bottom boats with a high X dimension with 525 and up motors.
