Hi Dan ole boy..
How the heck are you?? Usuallllllllllllllllllyyyyyyyyyy they do use electric. There are some belt driven ones out there that will give the required psi. Usually the injectors are rated at 43psi. You can fudge a bit to make them flow more, but not by much.
Merc uses, I believe a mech pump to supply the electric hi psi pump. Never messed with stock stuff, so I am not sure. But the two pump idea (mech & elec) is not a bad one.
Winter is almost over, are you going to come up and visit our big lake and see my new shop. Well not done yet, but getting there..
Dick
P.S. hope that answers your ???..

Hey Mr G
Whats up?
Well....I get the dufus of the day award
After further investigation, I found the elec pumps. On the merc efi they are after the mech pump, on top and to the rear of the plenum. Told ya I didnt know squat The first sign of trouble and these puppys get swaped for a carb.
No plans to return to GR in the near future, but ya never know. Hope you get an early spring and a long summer.
