Good question. I have a pair of DPX-A drives ready to go in my Magnum 27, but like you, I don't have a hydraulic helm unit yet. Volvo-Penta wants about $750 for a new helm-unit for twins and close to that amount for the same unit for a single.
Anyone?
Anyone?

Hi guys,
If you are refering to the hydrualic helm unit that mounts under the dash for full hydrualic steering systems I can sell you non-adjustable 145cc helm units for $379 each, considering it will work on your DPX system. I do need to double check.
Just throwing that out there for you.
PM me if interested.
Thanks
Allan

Allan that's great . . . and yes, it's the unit that mounts behind the dash. I know that there are two different helm units available from Volvo-Penta: One for a single DPX outdrive (two steering rams) installation and another for a twin DPX outdrive (four steering rams) installation. I'm sure that most any five-port Char-Lynn type unit will work, I just want to be sure to get the unit with the correct size unit so as not to make the steering too quick or too slow.
