I like the Mityvac air operated fluid evacuator ($99.99 in the Craftsman catalog). You hook it up to your air compressor. The compressed air blowing out creates a vacuum in the container and it pulls the fluid out. It holds like 2.25 gallons. It's WAY faster than the the 12 volt pump types. Plus you can use for otherstuff around the shop (removing gear oil, bleeding brakes, etc)

Also, guys...
I just bought the boat used...
obviously need to change oil.
I was going to use Mobil 1 15-50.
Is this good?
And for the initial change is it necessary to
do it twice in a row? to get rid of all the old oil.

Like I said, It's the manual version.
Do a yahoo search under:
"mityvac fluid evacuator"
You'll get a few places to purchase.
(Sears catalog doesn't carry the manual version)

Looks like the industrial version of the penis pump in the Austin Powers movie.
"How'd that get in there, no really"

Rookie Question...
We have just entered the performance world (actually boat won't be in until early May) and trying to get everything we need.
Would like to empty the first engine completely without having to empty. Will Mityvac 7.3 liter handle oil capacity of Merc 500's or do we need the Mityvac Plus 9 quart?

Don't buy the elec. drill pump. They are junk. I use what US1 has, Merc hand pump. Screws onto dipstick hole, and pumps easily when engine oil is good and warm. Leave oil filler caps on (someone was asking in an earlier thread) and it creates a good tight vaccum. I tie a 1 gal milk jug to my belt and 3-5 min your good to go. Well,....... don't forget to change filter and re-add oil!! then you're good to go......
