I look at a few motor homes and I always get the same impression-they are a poorly put together boat!! They have all the same systems but they just don't tack them down well. They use pvc for water and waste lines that leak after a few years. The electrical systems are funky at best and the 12 V wiring can be scary. Most of them use a lot of the same parts so comparison could be done based on age, mileage, and options, as opposed to better quality hardware. Try to stick with a GM or Ford Chassis-I prefer the GM-but there are a few really scary ones out there. Also if you pick one up look into the Good Sam extended warranty-it used to be a pretty good program.

I like the foretravel. On my 3rd one. I get used. The quality is top notch, The shortest one is 36'. Don't let the price shock you. The price they list is what they would like to get. I offer about 30% off & we go from there.

Thanks for the offer. I have been looking at the repo rv's. What I would like to do is buy a good used one. then use it for about 6 months and sell it and not loose tooo much. If i buy one I will steal it. I don't want to buy one from a friend.

Your are right. I will check out the good sam program.

Turbo jack,

Phoenix has alot of rv dealers. You are right about price. I went to the largest dealer in town and they could not tell me what they wanted for the rv's that I looked at. they said make an offer. There are a lot of junk rv's in phoenix. My guess is that they buy them up from up north and then try to sell then for more because they are in the desert. I was looking at monaco coaches and the under carriage was all rusted out. A 200+k rv should not rust out in the desert in a few years. I haven't found a foretravel out yet but I will check it out.

I was looking at a safari with a 300hp cummins and a 6 speed allison tranny. The stuff looked pretty good. If I bought one that is 6 years old with 50k miles on it would it be a hanger queen? What is the web site like offshore only for rv's?

Thanks
