Hope someone out there can figure this out. I have a twin engine 454 with Bravo 1's. The steering cable was removed and a hydraulic system was put in. The original Mercruiser power assist ram was left bolted to the transom housing and is hooked up to the bar that links the two outdrives together. When I run the motor that has the power steering pump on it, the steering does not feel any different then when the motor is not running. Should this ''assist" ram make my steering any easier, or could it be making it harder since the cable is no longer being used? I bought the boat like this last fall, and am getting things fine tuned before I launch in a couple weeks. Thank you for any help you can give me. STEVE
