Try CP Performance,Pt# 620-54016, scews directly in place of the merc. unit. A little pricey for about $149, but no need to wire in a elec. unit. Just installed one in a 502 ,Gen.5, took about 10 min.,you will need to reduce the intake down to #8 AN fitting to accept the inlet line from the filter housing.

Chances are that the armature housing is fine.
If that's the case most any of the Holley or Carter hp pumps will work and only cost $75 or so.
Just remove the six screws, swap the housings out and rotate the inlets and outlets to any direction that suits you better. Very easy.
