hp 500 valve adjustment

just installed new springs on my 500s adjusted valves to 0 lash then a little over 1/2 a turn. started them up they have a little chatter this should be normal on a roller motor i think. if to loose what will happen and should i readjust after they have been run.

Rick,
The correct way to adjust valve is the EO/IC method. You need to be sure that the lifter is on the base circle of the cam when you adjust the lash. If lifters are set loose you can damage the retainer in the lifter and/or the roller.
