![Question](/forums/images/icons/icon5.gif)
My port power trim pump is running much slower than the stbd.
I want them to run as equal as possible.
Can I use lighter oil in the slow pump to make it faster or
do I have to replace the pump, what to do?

I have been experimenting with different viscosity oils and it works for fine tuning on my TRS, but I found if I used different guage wire it made a big difference. also check your grounds.
Don't use anything smaller than what is what is standard, if you have 10 guage supplying the drives put 8 guage wire to the slower drive. change the positive and the negative you want to lower the resistance. or simply shorten the positive and ground wires on the slower drive.
Remember to clean you connections!

Try changing the pump oil,if that doesn't change anything, try adding a trans oil conditioner to the fluid.BG products make a great product, and it is used in most all new car repair shops. It is not sold over the counter in any stores. Some Indepenent garages have it as well. The pump itself never wearsout, either dirt causes low press by wearing the seals and clogging the relieve valves. and spool assemblies, sometimes just a good cleaning brings them back to new.

if you can't find the additive e-mail me and I'll be happy to send you a can. there's more then enough for about 10 units. you can use it for your trim tab hydraulics and power steering as well.
