I'm considering a '96 Top Gun w/675 chiefs, 12" Imco boxes and New XR's with 1;35 gears.
On the sea trial we were turning about 5k in mod. rough water and saw mid 70's on GPS speedo. I'm trying to find out if I should have it switched to 1;5 gears and what to expect with either combo.
Thanks for the input.
Greg

The 1.5's will give you better midrange, better planing, and lower off plane speed. Generally, if you can you want to stick with 1.5's. It's only when you get to 32" of pitch that you should start looking at 1.36's. The question is if the money would be worth the improvements.
