I have a Guest onboard battery charger. Printed on it is 30amp, 50amp and 13.6v. Will this charger boil batteries if left on all the time? 1987 boat.
Thanks, Jim

Jim, Check these out my boat didn't come with a power supply so i researched them quite a bit, this is the best one i found. If you get one just order it with the IQ4 controller. I've only been using mine for one season but it has worked flawlessly so far.

I've been using two Guest 2611's for three years on my cruiser, and just installed one in my Thoroughbred. They've functioned flawlessly, and are left on 24 hours a day. They WILL NOT boil batteries. The charge flattens out to a small trickle. I check the electrolyte in my cruiser's four batteries once a month, and they are very healthy. I hardly ever have to add water, (maybe a little every six months.)
Guest also has excellent customer service. I bought an old boat that had an ancient Guest charger in it that was inoperable. I sent it to Guest and they sent me a new 2611 free of charge!

jimmybaja, If all your looking for is a charger than the guest chargers work great and like bglz42 said you should be able to leave them on all the time without causing damage to the batteries. The only reason why i did not go with them is because i wanted to use mine for a power supply when i went on weekend trips and guest chargers are not rated for continuous supply. here's their web site. http://www.guestindustrial.com/
