Setting Timing on a HP500 EFI
I am setting the timing on my '99 500 EFI and I do not have a scan tool or a diagnotic code tool.
How do I stabilize the timing so that I can set it with a timing light? (What do I do with the DLC?)

You need to jump pins A & B on the DTC connector to put the motor into base timing mode. Start engine and bring to 1500rpm, then set timing to 8 degrees.

Thanks jd, that is what I needed to know.
I knew the 8 degrees, just not how to shut off the ECM from advancing the timing.
