Default Power steering question.

My 36 Apache steering is very tight @ idle. Need two hands to turn the wheel.

Steering fluid is burt looking. (Latham Set up)

Someone told me I either need a Power Steering cooler or my cooler is clogged.

Question is where would I find the Power Steering cooler & what does it look like?

Default Re: Power steering question.

If it's a Latham setup, it probably has a power steering filter. It should be between the high pressure output of the pump and the helm. Probably bolted to the front wall. That's the first thing I would check because that directly affects pump flow.
