Default Shift Cable Bellows

Can anyone tell me if the bellows should be fixed to the cable or when trimmed up is the cable supposed to slide inside the bellows end.Hope that makes sense.Bravo 1 drive.

The crimp on clamp leaves it kind of loose, able to slide
