Parts availability for Mercruiser Bravo
Currently I have a boat with the obsolete OMC King Cobra outdrive. Nobody seems to fix it right and can’t get parts for it! After this fix, we are selling it on consignment and getting another boat. The wife thinks we should get a newer boat, but with the budget I will have it means a small one. If I go with an older boat I can get a bigger one more in the 22’ performance range. She knows I want one with “those pipes”. If I get one in the late 80’s early 90’s with a Mercruiser outdrive, are parts still as plentiful as I think they still are since the Bravo drive is basically the same now as it has been for the last 20 years. Give me your opinions so I can stand my point with the wife!

I think the first Bravos came out in 1988. I have those. There have been a few improvements (maybe) but parts are easily available and aftermarket parts are getting better and better. Bravo is the deal up to 500 hp in my opinion.

In 87 they had a big block with Alpha package...Stay away.
TRS drives can be found thru early 90's. Lowers are getting harder and harder to find and are the first thing to go.
F31 is right 88 is the first year.
