280 K plane hose question.
over the year I have gathered all the parts to complete a set of 280s K planes. I have all the parts to make them work but when I went to connect the trim hose from the pump to the K plane on the inside of the transom only one set fits.
the hoses I have are brand new. They seem to have a standard 3/16 double flair on each end. they fit fine on one side but on the other side it seems that the k plane accepts a larger fitting or maybe there is an adapter to connect the hose to the k plane.
I am not sure what the problem is
1. do I have the wrong hose
or
2. is there a adapter fitting that I need.

Re: 280 K plane hose question.
just curious but you said that you have been collecting parts. did the k-planes come from two sources or were they a set. Mercury does like to make changes and there are several adapters for trim pumps and the like. some of the adapters are only availible from Merc as far as I know. If you can figure out what you need I may have the adapters to fix it. I can be reached at [email protected] or at the shop at 954-564-0015.
