Re: Solid lifter Question
It depends... iron block? or alloy block?... iron heads? alloy heads?... Roller rockers? or standard ball.... what ratio... what material are the valves? What are the original clearances?...... If this is an engine that you have built... the best thing to do is run it for a few hours and see if the adjustment has changed... Say ,.... run it 20 hrs... check... no change in clearance... then run it 40 hrs and check... no change in clearance?... run it 60 or 80.... If the valves are good material... and all the components are high quality... you theoretically should be able to run the engine for several hundred hours before they * might * need adjustment.

Re: Solid lifter Question
Used to have a street car with solid lifters. Spent every Saturday morning under the hood adjusting the valves. But then I drove the piss out of it too, lots of street racing.
