Default trim pump slowdown mean dying????

one of my pumps is very slow and getting slower as if in a bind somewhere(drive was off not long ago)or voltage is low.(both batt used on both)I guess this means the motor is going bad?Can I buy the mtr seperately? or should I just get the whole unit. Thanks

Exactly the same happened to me today!
I'm going to tear down the motor tomorrow or Tuesday to figure out the problem.
I'll let you know.

Check the fluid level. Mine did that and I had a leak on the outside line.

fluid level is barely below MIN with outdrive all the way up??Seems like if it were low fluid the motor would spin faster and not move the drive?

My motor was getting slower and slower and finally died.
The fluid level is perfect so I'm quite sure it is a motor failure.

It's definitely the motor. Same thing happened to mine. Motor bad on one of my trim pumps and another bad on one of my K-plane pumps. Had them both rebuilt at an alternator/starter rebuild shop. Didn't cost much and now they all work well. Actually, the newely rebuilt ones are a little faster then the non-rebuilt ones. I should pull the other two.

Do the motors, I'm sure thats the problem and not the pumps.

Thanks,I was wondering if they could be rebuilt. We have a good/cheap little alt shop down the street. It's never this easy with boats.

I took my motor apart yesterday and the brushes was totally gone.
Cleaned it and installed new brushes today, runs like new!
