Just installed my new water pressure gage, put it on the side of the block. I have noticed everytime I pull that plug out I always have some debris/dirt. I even had to use a pick one time to get sand out of the way to allow it to drain.

what are the chances this thing is going to clog up again, I am NOT running a sea strainer at this time. Anyone have any trouble with this set-up? Should I look into a sea strainer or install it on the manifold? Thanks

Most of the time they do get clogged up again. We have started to run the water pressure off of the intake manifold at the back. Just drill tap and install a fitting and you are good to go! Never clogged again.

That settles it, ill move it to the top of the manifold, its an air gap, already predrilled, thanks for the info!!

You can make a dirt trap out of a tee and a couple pipe nipples and a cap. Keep the sending unit higher then the nipples with the cap the sand should settle in the nipple with the cap and not the sending unit. If that makes any sense. Hard to explain. The block is the best spot to pick up water pressure.

no, thats makes perfect sence.. and can even use that as a drain passage

Mine are on the t-stat housing right next to where the incoming water enters.
