Full time muffler results

I had a pair of the larger mufflers plumbled into my boat which has a 454 Magnum. Then I was told I was loosing power so I went straight through and no increase in MPH at all, but too loud. Then tried silencer tips and a loss of 2-3 mph. Now back to these inline. The bigger the muffler the more mellow the sound and less HP loss. These are worth a look at for up to 600 HP. They sound great. Very throaty and tuned just right.

I am leaning back toward the HPI/ Livorsi transom mount tips based on these responses. Thanks All...............

I have teague switchables and love them. Only downside is cutting the 4.5 inch hole, but it's not as bad as it sounds. They really quiet it down when flipped on, and obviously have no mph loss when off......

Madmax,
How hard is making the 4" hole larger?? Seems to me it would be difficult.

Re: Full time muffler results
It's not bad, you take a 4" hole saw, and interlock it with a 4.5" hole saw so that the 4" is the furthest out. The 4" rides in the existing hole, and the 4.5 cuts away. Trust me tho, it's scary pulling the trigger on the drill the first time. The second one I was alot more comfortable. They work great tho, really take the bark out of the boat while it's on plane, almost silent choice like. At idle it muffles it, but I actually wish it quieted it even more. Sometimes in the morning at the marina I feel a lil guilty, but then I say 'screw it'.....
Only problem is the engine room clearance. The mechanism is on the inside so on the outside all you see are normal tips. I had to cut a lil off my Gil tailpipes, and a lil off the mufflers to make them fit.
A co-worker has 2 brand new sets he bought for his fountain with stellings exhaust, and he couldn't make them fit. I bet he would make somebody a good deal on them if they are interested.....

Just picked up two sets of HPI transom mount mufflers (Thanks Tres) and will be installing in the next few weeks.
