High oil temps, 6.2 MPI's.
I have an '04 29 Fountain with two stock 6.2 MPI engines. Although supposedly equipped with Fountain added oil coolers, the oil temps seem a bit high. At moderate cruise, 3500 rpm, the temps show 230f and at WOT they are 260f. If you hold the WOT for more than a couple of minutes, the temps go even higher! I have a friend with a single 525MPI whose oil temp never gets above 210f. His boat is also a Fountain 29 and both boats have Gaffrig oil temp gauges...anyone have the same issue or any ideas? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
