low rpms and speed
Just had 2 brand new LONG BLOCKS (not rebuilt) GM 454 HO'S (420 HP) INSTALLED IN MY 42' EXCALIBUR EAGLE. THE OLD 454'S I WAS TURNING 4900 RPMS AND RUNNING 51 TO 53 MPH GPS AND MECHANICAL. THE NEW MOTORS ARE ONLY TURNING 4000 RPMS AND I'M RUNNING ABOUT 38 TO 40 MPH. WHY AM I NOT GETTING THE SAME RPMS OUT OF THE NEW MOTORS. ARE THEY JUST TIGHT AND WILL THEY LOOSEN UP IN TIME OR IS THERE SOMETHING WRONG. YOU WOULD THINK I WOULD AT LEAST TURN THE SAME RPMS IF NOT MORE (FIGURING THEY WOULD BE STRONGER THAN THE OLD ONES, SINCE THERE FRESH). NEED SOME TECHNICAL ADVISE

I would hold off on trying to turn them up until you get a few hours into them. Also have you been able to spend any time tuning the engines? You know, timing and such? The engines being tight would not cause it to be 10-MPH slower but a few hours in them first will help out somewhat.
