Here are some general guidelines...
It cost $1000 for each additional 1 MPH.
If you look at an internal compustion engine as a huge air pump, then you want to increase airflow both into and out of the engine. A low restriction flame arrestor and after-market manifolds will help with that. Once you get more air into the engine, you need to add more gas. This means a bigger carb or a new ECM program.
The BEST bang for your buck is to add a supercharger. I have a Whipple, and I love it!
