I have the 8.5 lower pulley as well, however I really pulled my RPM's down with 1.26 gears and a 32 pitch prop. I am looking for a top RPM of 5300-5400. It really takes the HP to turn the 32 against the 1.26 gears, but like I said what a great cruise speed, for 3500-4000. What setup-gears&prop, are you using now Jack and what top speed are you getting at that 5800 RPM.

They are due on my doorstep any hour now. However after trying the 4.0 if it's too much boost I will be intersted in the 4.25. I wish you would have stepped up a day ago I would have bought both 4.00 and 4.25 from you, I also ordered a new belt, mine was starting to fray, I was down to a 11 rib belt instead of twelve. It was like strings hanging off your clothes I couldn't resist pulling them.

Hey Jack and John,
where did you get a 8.5 crank pulley?
I didn't know ProCharger offered one
I run 7-8 lbs at 5600-5700 rpm with a 4.5 upper and the standard lower which I believe is around 6.6". I don't need more but I was just curious. PC told me they only had one size for the BB setup.
I see why your making so much boost with a 5.5 pulley

The lower 8.5 pulley is what came stock with my M-4 from the getgo, this is the first time i have changed pullies on mine since 2001. As well another friend bought his M-4 at the same time and he has an 8.5 lower, maybe it was standard at the time.

Still testing on props, got a 29 5 blade hydromotive to try this weekend.

Setup is, extention box, prop is 1/2" above the lower part of outside sponsons, 1.36 gears.

I just put the lower on this summer & everthing has been keeping me for going to the water. Of the few times I got to go
Best speed was 102.9 @ 5700 with 30" bravo, slipping blower belt, & shut down when I saw I was running out of real estate. I had shut down when GPS said 100.1 due to no more real estate & when I checked the recall I was at 102.9 Blower belt was also slipping since I was only pulling 5 lbs of boost. So who know where top end on that really is.

Tried 27 p5x hydromotive & was on rev limiter @ 5950 (shuts motor off at 5950, restarts @ 5600) Speed was 101.7, blower belt was again slipping & only 7lbs of boost but was on rev limiter

I bought a new belt also since mine was also 11 ribs istead of 12.
As I stated trying new 29 p5x this weekend so will see where top end is. Remember I have a big heavy bowrider in front.

Pulleys now running 8.5 lower (came with m5 procharger kit) & 5" upper. If it slips again this weekend I am going with the procharger clog belt setup that they are using with the M5. Based on injector duty cycle when I was running the 27" prop motor on rev limiter Motor was only putting out about 800hp.

The conversation I had with them was two years ago and as we all know, any conversation with them is vague at best
Must be an M4/5 thing...Interesting though; guess it allows you to run BIG boost numbers without getting too small on the upper pulley and loosing surface area which would in turn, lead to slip. The cog may be a good thing for you.
How do you like your P5-X. I'm running a 27 on my 28 Nordic and at 5000 feet elevation I'm getting 86 mph GPS at 5700 rpm. It has really made a huge difference on our boat. I'll be trying a 29 in October when dropping down to Lake Mead (1200 feet).
Do you have any more ECU logs I can peek at?
Later,
Dave

I tried out my 4.0 pulley and it really woke the motor up, although I did not make a top end blast it was real strong at partial throttle, huge differrence from last weekend. The most I saw was 8 lbs without cranking past 4000 RPM's. Plugs looked nice and clean, porcelain dark tan color. My computer battery quit on me so I couldn't read my Wid Band O2 sensor. I'll take another shot at it later this weekend.
