That's funny.... INXS and I pecking away and posting an update 2 minutes apart

Well anyway, I won't deleat mine as it compliments his and may help others learn from the experience.

Anyone have some further .02??

If the bolt gets caught between two gears you will be into a very expensive fix!

I spoke with INXS yesterday and he had confirmed this with Max Machine in AZ when he ordered replacements. He got lucky, pulled the top cap and there it was for an easy extraction. Looks like he dodged the bullet on this one. More reason why this bolt should be checked at least once a season- just a little extra work when changing the fluid (every 25 hrs for me), I wonder if there is anything to safety wire the head to- will have to take another look.

I just had this same issue over the weekend. This is an old thread but Im curious as to who else has had this problem. Luckily my bolt head snapped off and stayed under the detent ball and didnt go through the gears.

I had the bolt come out of the shift fork cam.

Luckily, it stayed in the rear cap area.
