Just brought home my new boat, 1995 power play. I notice the port throttle is hard to move where as the starbord is smooth as silk. How can i fix this? Is there a way to lube the cable? Do i need to lube the shifter, or back by the carb??? Maybe all three. Anyone have any suggestions?

I would suggest disconnecting at all three locations. I would then see were the bind is. You should be able to move the cable with relative ease, the Throttle should move easy as should the throttle on the carb. I am willing to bet you will know quck enough when you find the problem.

If you are running gaffrig controls there is a tension set screw that can be loosened or tighten to achieve your desired resistants.
Pull the rubber boot up which is at the base of the throttle lever push the throttle forward and the screw will be at the base of the throttle at the pivoting spot.

Well i tried to drive the boat saturday i could'nt get the throttle to return to idle, plus it was a pain in the a$$ to try and keep the engines in sync. So i spend the day on Sunday pulling the cables and im replacing them. It was hard to move after i pulled it off. Must have gotton moisture in it and rusted or something. Well my first weekend as a performance boater and i spent the day wrenching, still had fun though.
