Steve

I think it is the part that you have to break the upper and lower to replace.

Im not going to cheap out and bang it with a hammer. But without the pressure of the bellhousing on it, it shifts fine, so hopefully I just bent that one part.

Anyone know the name of that part?

Go to http://www.hlsm.com and click on Mercruiser Stern Drives. Find your drive on the list and look at the microfiche to find your part and part number.

Oh yeah, almost forgot. After you find your part number, go to http://www.boatfix.com and click contact. Then pick tech and part support and send an email asking for the part. George is the owner and does a great job with tech stuff they also have good prices. He is by far the most knowledgable person I've talked to about boats. If he doesnt have it he'll order it. If you ask him for help installing it he'll probably even call you to tell you how to do it.

Changed out the shift shaft. Put it all back together, and it shifts perfectly with the shift interupt working perfect. Now it shifts better than the other side! Thanks for all your help on this!
